A little help along the way
Make room
for a good story.
Answers to the questions that tend to come up first.
See the step-by-step guideHow do I begin?
Create a story, give it a title, and select a few photos from your phone or computer. Add a voice recording or a caption to explain what you remember.
Which photos should I choose?
Start with a few moments that belong together: one afternoon, one person, or a small part of a longer story. You can add more detail as you go.
Why does an upload say storage is temporarily full?
During private preview, LifeReplay shares a limited amount of storage across all stories. New uploads and exports may pause even if your story has room left. You can still view and download saved files. Try again later, or contact the operator who invited you. Deleting a file may not immediately make room because checks for unfinished uploads continue in the background.
My microphone isn’t working. What should I try?
Allow microphone access when your browser asks. If you previously blocked it, open your browser’s site settings and allow the microphone, then reload. You can also upload an audio recording or write a caption instead.
Can I correct something I wrote?
Yes. Review your captions and the order of your moments in the story editor before creating your replay. Editing a caption doesn’t change the words spoken in an existing recording.
How do people contribute?
Create a contribution invitation from your project and share the link. Anyone with an active invitation link can submit to that project, so share it with people you trust. You review contributions before including them.
Can an invited person see all my projects?
No. A project invitation does not grant access to your whole library. Contribution access and replay viewing are separate.
What happens when I share a viewing link?
A viewing link allows whoever has it to open the shared replay. It can be forwarded. You can change sharing access from the project rather than treating a link as a verified identity.
Can I keep a copy?
Use the download option after a replay is ready. Downloaded files stay with the people who saved them, even if you later stop sharing the hosted version.
Why is a replay still processing?
Larger projects take longer to render. Keep the project and check its status again. If the project reports a failure, follow the retry option shown there. Avoid starting repeated exports while one is still processing.
What if I want to delete a story?
Use the project’s delete action and read the confirmation before continuing. Deleting a hosted project cannot remove copies that someone has already downloaded.
